The Steps of Pennsylvania residences provide safe, supportive and structured environments to residents as they begin the non-treatment phase of their recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. As the name implies, The Steps adheres to the basic principles of the 12-Step program of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The Steps of Pennsylvania offers two facilities. The Mohnton, Pa. home is a fifteen-bed facility and is located outside of Reading, Pa. The Steps second home will be available in 4th Quarter 2009. This location will be in historic Bethlehem, Pa. The site will offer up to sixteen beds.
While The Steps provides a mutually supportive peer-to-peer family environment, it will also offer a strong introduction to the “Recovery Coaching” model as a proactive approach to learning the skills necessary for long-term recovery.
The Steps of Pennsylvania features single, double and triple bed sleeping accommodations. Soundproof meeting rooms provide the privacy needed for group sessions and house meetings. While residents are expected to prepare their own meals, a family-style atmosphere nurtures the cooperative spirit of a wholesome family structure.
